Melissa Kotte: Live-Remote Exercise Improved Strength and Fitness in Cancer Survivors in EX-MED Trial
Melissa Kotte, PHD Student at Karolinska Institute, shared a post on LinkedIn about a paper she co-authored with colleagues published in the Journal of Cancer Survivorship:
“New publication alert! Thrilled to share our latest study from the EX-MED Cancer Sweden trial, now published in the Journal of Cancer Survivorship.
We found that live-remote supervised exercise – delivered online over 12 weeks – led to significant improvements in physical function, fitness, and upper body strength for cancer survivors, even though overall quality of life didn’t significantly change.
These findings highlight the promise of accessible, virtual exercise programs in post-treatment cancer care. Big thanks to my supervisors and co-authors for all the help and support, Sara Mijwel, Yvonne Wengström, Renske Altena Kornalijnslijper, Kate Bolam Enarsson, Prue Cormie.”
Title: Effects of live-remote exercise on quality of life and other health-related outcomes in cancer survivors: a randomised controlled trial
