Hilal Lashuel: The Special Lancet Oncology Issue on Cancer Control in the Middle East

“Read the special Lancet Oncology Issue on Cancer control in the Middle East (5 papers and commentaries by scientists from Qatar, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Bahrain, Kuwait, and Syria).
Experts who discuss the current outlook for cancer in the Middle East and future developments within their respective countries. We publish papers highlighting cancer control in Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and in the United Arab Emirates. The final Series paper discusses the possibility of a regional collaboration and alignment between Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Jordan.
As part of the Series, we also include Comments that discuss cancer control in Bahrain, Kuwait, Syria, and in refugee populations in Turkey. Finally, we publish a related Review on the cancer journeys of Iraqi citizens during instability. The Lancet Oncology’s sister journals also publish Reviews on paediatric cancer control in Jordan in The Lancet Child & Adolescent Health and on cancer control in adolescents and young people in Saudi Arabia in eClinicalMedicine.
