Danh-Tai Hoang: We developed DEPLOY that predicts DNA methylation and subsequently classifies brain tumors based on histopathology images
Danh-Tai Hoang, a Research Fellow at The Australian National University, recently shared a post on LinkedIn:
“I am thrilled to share that our effort on AI pathology for precision cancer medicine has been published in Nature Medicine.
In this project, we developed DEPLOY, a deep learning framework that predicts DNA methylation and subsequently classifies brain tumors into 10 major subtypes based on histopathology images.
The model was trained on a large dataset comprised of ~ 1,800 patients from a wide variety of medical centers across the USA, and subsequently tested on 3 independent datasets of ~ 2,200 patients, mostly from Europe.
Remarkably, our model achieved an accuracy of ~ 95% across these datasets.”
