“Happy to share this paper on cancer care in Needle Hopital in Somaliland. We need to see more papers from countries that are underrepresented in cancer care literature in Africa. This paper confirms the challenges we see in East Africa and also highlights the unique and shared epidemiology of cancer in particular, esophageal cancer in the Horn of Africa. It also tells us that things are changing and that local cancer services are expanding in many parts of Africa. Proud of my mentee Gebrekirstos Hagos who led this paper. Great job.
It is open access so I encourage everyone to read it.”
