Highlights from ESTRO meets Asia 2024 by Melvin LK Chua
The third edition of the Joint FARO-ESTRO Congress ESTRO meets Asia 2024 took place from 23 to 25 August in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
The objective of the joint venture between ESTRO and FARO (The Federation of Asian Organizations for Radiation Oncology) was to build radiation oncology collaboration between Europe and Asia.
The interactive congress format provided a platform for participants to learn from each other by embracing diverse clinical practices and exploring common solutions to optimize radiotherapy treatment and care for patients.
The scientific programme included three components: an interdisciplinary track, a medical physics track, and an RTT track, each addressing topics for different radiotherapy disciplines.
The congress also featured a substantial exhibition in radiation oncology, encouraging attendees to connect with colleagues and industry leaders while exploring the latest developments in radiotherapy and oncology.
Melvin LK Chua, Head of the Department of Head Neck and Thoracic Cancers, Division of Radiation Oncology at National Cancer Centre Singapore, shared some insights about ESTRO Asia 2024 on X:
