
LUNGevity VA Research Scholar Award
The LUNGevity Foundation is now accepting Letters of Intent for its 2025 VA Research Scholar Award, offering $100,000 over two years to support early-career investigators committed to advancing lung cancer research within the Veterans Affairs (VA) system. This award aims to enhance early detection and treatment of lung cancer in veterans through impactful, targeted research.
Who is eligible?
Applicants must:

Hold a doctoral degree (MD, PhD, or equivalent)

Be either:

In a postdoctoral fellowship, or
-
Within the first five years of a faculty appointment

Intend to pursue a career in lung cancer research within a VA institution or an academic institution affiliated with a VA hospital

Submit a mentoring plan as part of their application

Apply as part of an institution that has not already received this award during the current cycle (one award per institution)
Funding at a glance:

$100,000 total ($50,000/year for 2 years)
