The Inova Hematology and Oncology Fellowship Program is a three-year training program preparing physicians for careers in comprehensive cancer and hematologic disease care while providing opportunities to participate in innovative clinical research.
Training combines inpatient and ambulatory hematology-oncology, malignant hematology, stem cell transplantation and cellular therapy, palliative care, hematopathology, and multidisciplinary oncology specialties, with dedicated research time and elective opportunities. (inova.org)
Eligibility Criteria:
- Applicants should be graduates of an ACGME-accredited Internal Medicine residency program.
- Candidates must apply through the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS).
- Paper applications are not accepted.
- Selection is conducted in conjunction with the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP).
- Inova states that applications are reviewed holistically.
- Preference is given to applicants who signal the Inova program, although applicants who do not signal the program are also considered.
Funding Details:
- Fellowship length: 3 years.
- Inova’s 2026–2027 House Staff salary schedule lists annual salaries of $89,766 for PGY-4, $95,580 for PGY-5, and $101,641 for PGY-6; an individual fellow’s salary depends on their assigned postgraduate training level.
- Inova provides a $1,000 educational stipend per academic year and an annual travel stipend for conference presentations.
