Luke Thomas to lead the team at World Child Cancer UK

World Child Cancer shared post on LinkedIn:

“We are delighted to announce the appointment of a new permanent Chief Executive, Luke Thomas, to lead the team at World Child Cancer UK.

Luke brings over 20 years of experience working within the non-profit sector at both national and international levels. His strong background in fundraising and strategy will be hugely instrumental to his work with us. A board member of the international health and disability NGO, Lepra, he is passionate about humanitarian work.

On taking up his post today, Luke writes:

‘I am so excited to be joining World Child Cancer. It can often feel like the world is in a constant state of turmoil, so to be joining an organisation that brings life and hope to so many children and families around the world is an incredible privilege. No child should ever die from a curable cancer. Together with the amazing team at World Child Cancer, our communities, supporters and partners we will make that a reality. I hope you want to be part of that too.’

Rachel Hollis, Chair of the Board of World Child Cancer writes:

‘We extend our thanks to Julie Worrall for taking on the position of interim CEO for the last year – we are incredibly grateful for her leadership, commitment and support during this time. This helped us to make sure that we could take time to look for the right person to be our new Chief Executive; we believe that we have found that in Luke! He has the skills, experience and energy to lead the organisation as we look to grow our impact and deliver on our vision of a world where every child with cancer has equal access to the best treatment and care. Luke’s appointment marks the start of an exciting new chapter at World Child Cancer and we look forward to sharing more with you!’ ”
