“New Episode: Understanding Pancreatic Cancer: Genetics, Early Action and Future Research
It was a great pleasure to have Professor Philip Agop, to discuss one of the most challenging cancers – pancreatic cancer. Professor Philip shares insights into early symptoms of pancreatic cancer such as chronic abdominal discomfort, abdominal pain, and unexplained weight loss. He also highlights that one of the earliest signs of localized pancreatic cancer can be yellowing of the eyes (jaundice), often accompanied by dark urine.
We also explore the role of genetics in pancreatic cancer, how a small proportion of patients may carry mutations like BRCA or KRAS, sometimes unknowingly, and why understanding family history is essential for assessing personal risk. Whether you’re a healthcare provider, caregiver, or patient, this conversation offers clarity, hope, and the latest thinking on early detection and research in pancreatic cancer.
