Healing Through Art, Play, and Connection – Stories from Nepal
World Child Cancer USA shared a post on LinkedIn:
“When a child is diagnosed with cancer, families face more than just medical decisions.
In Nepal, Richa Shakya is a Family Support Officer with World Child Cancer. She helps families understand the cancer journey, supports children through play and art, offers emotional guidance, and connects parents with others who’ve been there too.
‘Her everyday visits brought joy during our hospital stay. Because of her, my child opened up and felt safe.’
In 2024 alone, 3,324 families in Bangladesh, Nepal, and Vietnam received support from Family Support Officers like Richa.
Learn more about how we support families every step of the way.”
