Jasmin Hundal: Insights on treating diverse populations at Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi
Jasmin Hundal, Hematology Oncology Fellow at Cleveland Clinic, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“During my clinical rotation at Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi, I gained valuable insight into global oncology and multidisciplinary cancer care, working alongside dedicated physicians to understand the challenges and opportunities in treating diverse populations.
As part of this experience, I presented Grand Rounds: ‘Beyond Diagnosis – Integrating Lifestyle Medicine to Optimize Outcomes in Breast Cancer Survivorship and Cardiometabolic Health.’
My presentation focused on assessing the impact of cardiometabolic comorbidities on breast cancer outcomes and exploring lifestyle medicine as an evidence-based approach to mitigate risk, improve survivorship, and develop personalized, multidisciplinary care for high-risk patients.
Beyond existing evidence, I emphasized the need for actionable strategies, including biomarker-driven lifestyle interventions,multi-omic approaches, exercise-mimetic drugs, and integrating lifestyle factors into clinical trials to better to understand their impact on tumor biology and treatment response.
This experience reinforced the importance of bridging oncology and lifestyle medicine to improve patient outcomes. I am grateful for the opportunity to contribute to these discussions and to learn from colleagues who are advancing cancer care globally.”
