A High-Level Hearing on the Future of the EU’s Pharmaceutical Legislation – European Cancer Organisation

“This week in Strasbourg

The European Parliament’s Intergroup on Cancer and Rare Diseases held a high-level hearing on the future of the EU’s pharmaceutical legislation.

The session was co-chaired MEPs Stine Bosse, Tilly Metz, Alessandra Moretti, Tomislav Sokol, and Vlad Voiculescu.

Policymakers, medical professionals and patient advocates came together to discuss the legislation, including presentations from representatives of the ECO community:

Denis Lacombe, CEO of the European Organisation for Research and Treatment of Cancer, on the topic of treatment optimisation, and
Lydie Meheus from the Anticancer Fund on the topic of drug repurposing.

Next step The EU Parliament, Council, and Commission will negotiate the final text.
