Jill Feldman: This is a fantastic resource created by Ambreen Sayani and members of EMPaCT to address power inequities

Jill Feldman shared a post by Ambreen Sayani, Scientist at Women’s College Hospital, on LinkedIn, adding the following:

“This is a fantastic resource created by Ambreen Sayani and members of EMPaCT to address power inequities related to patient engagement and equity.

Too often, decisions are made, and research is done without the input of diverse people, which only widens health inequities. The Power Wheel helps researchers, clinicians, companies, etc., rethink and redesign ‘spaces and places’ of patient engagement to promote equity.”

Quoting Ambreen Sayani’s post:

“Thrilled to share a new conceptual tool that can be used to unpack, understand and report on issues of power as they relate to patient engagement and equity ~ The Power Wheel.

The Power Wheel was co-created by members of EMPaCT as a praxis (reflection +action) tool to analyse the interspersion of power in the places and spaces of patient engagement, and to resolve power asymmetries in patient-partnered projects with a goal of creating equitable transformation and social inclusion.
