NCI Awards $4.5M to Myosin Therapeutics for Groundbreaking Glioblastoma Clinical Trial

“Myosin Therapeutics Inc., a biotechnology company developing novel therapies for aggressive cancers led by UF Health Cancer Center member Courtney A. Miller, has been awarded a $4.5 million grant from the National Cancer Institute (NCI).
The funding will support a clinical trial testing a novel treatment for glioblastoma that was crafted by scientists at The Herbert Wertheim UF Scripps Institute for Biomedical Innovation & Technology. The potential treatment renders the deadly brain cancer newly sensitive to both radiation and chemotherapy drugs, and blocks the cancer’s ability to invade other tissue, a new study showed.
