“Holiday Message from AIEOP President Angela Mastronuzzi:

‘Dear Members, Dear Friends,

With the arrival of the holidays, I would like to address all of you, on behalf of myself and the Board of Directors, to share my most sincere wishes for a peaceful Christmas and a new year full of hope, prosperity and new goals.

This December marks the beginning of my term as president, a role that I assume with deep gratitude and a sense of responsibility.

I feel honored to be able to represent an extraordinary network of professionals who every day, with competence and dedication, put themselves at the service of children, adolescents and their families, the true focus of our mission.

AIEOP exists for them and with them.

It is for the patients we care for with love and for their families that we try to build a better future, offering not only cutting-edge treatments, but also warmth, support and hope.

I would like this message of good wishes to reach all the children and young people and families who are currently facing the difficult journey of having an illness.

I want them to feel wrapped in the embrace of our great AIEOP family.

2024 was a year of challenges, also for me personal ones, but at the same time of great opportunities to grow and strengthen our network.

We are ready to face the new year together with courage, united by our commitment and the passion that guides us.

The strength of our unity is what allows us to make a difference, every day, in the lives of those who rely on us.

Let’s get ready to celebrate our first 50 years in 2025 with the prospect of an innovative future to write together for our patients.

Grateful for the tireless work of all the professionals in our centers, I wish each of you and your families a wonderful holiday, with the hope that this year will bring everyone peace, joy and renewed energy to continue our mission.’

Angela Mastronuzzi is the President of AIEOP. She is a pediatric hematologist-oncologist and the Head of Neuro-Oncology Unit at Bambino Gesù Children’s Hospital (Italy).

She is also a professor at the UniCamillus International Medical University, and a Board Member of AIEOP (Associazione Italiana Ematologia Oncologia Pediatrica). Her main fields of interest are CNS tumors and innovative therapies.
