OncoDaily Party Barcelona
On September 13, 2024, OncoDaily Party took place at the Chiringuito Mokai Beach Bar in Barcelona, Spain. More than 1000 people registered for the event.
The OncoDaily Party Barcelona was co-chaired by Yelena Janjigian, Gevorg Tamamyan, and Giuseppe Curigliano, who warmly welcomed the gathered oncology experts.
Gevorg Tamamyan delivered an inspiring address about the launch of a Global Cancer Movement, highlighting the importance of uniting against cancer.
One of the evening’s most moving moments came when Jennifer, a cancer patient, shared her personal story of hope and resilience, which resonated deeply with the audience.
During the event, the Aladina Foundation was honored with OncoDaily’s Yvonne award for Humanitarian Work, recognizing its outstanding contributions to cancer care and support around the world.
The OncoDaily Party was a notable gathering that successfully blended professional networking with personal stories of resilience. It provided a platform for recognizing achievements in oncology and underscore the ongoing global efforts to improve cancer care.
The success of this exceptional event was reflected by not only more than 1000 registered attendees but also by the warm welcoming comments coming from them.
The attendees of the event shared on their social media:
“On September 13, OncoDaily hosted its second Party, this time on Barcelona beach during the ESMO – European Society for Medical Oncology Annual Congress. We initially planned for a maximum of 500 attendees but were thrilled to welcome 1,000! The event was a tremendous success, and what mattered most to our team was seeing how much people value OncoDaily and hearing their thoughts on the work we’re doing.
After ESMO, I traveled to Geneva for the World Cancer Congress, a great event organized by Union for International Cancer Control (UICC). Once again, it was heartwarming to hear how people spoke about OncoDaily. From professionals and patient advocates to global cancer leaders and young fellows—whether from developed or low and middle-income countries—everyone sees OncoDaily as part of their own journey, part of a larger OncoDaily family. This is what truly defines our work!
We declared that we would become the voice of oncology, and we’re committed to living up to that promise. We vowed to work 24/7 because cancer doesn’t take a day off, and neither do we.
Dear Oncology Community and OncoDaily Family,
Your kind words and warm smiles make our work meaningful. Thank you all for your unwavering support and encouragement.
I’m also excited to share that, during the OncoDaily Party at ASCO, we missed presenting one Yvonne Award for Humanitarian Work. I’m happy to announce that just a few days ago, during the OncoDaily Party at ESMO, our Yvonne found its rightful home. I had the honor of presenting this award to the Fundación Aladina —to my dear friend and Aladina’s CEO, Ishtar Espejo and its founder, a great humanitarian Paco Arango—for their life-saving work globally.
P.S. On September 13, standing on the Mediterranean shore, I announced the launch of Global Cancer Movement initiated by OncoDaily—for every cancer patient, anywhere in the world. This movement will spark profound positive change globally, but only with your help. More details will follow soon, but for now, I’m sharing one photo from that unforgettable night.”
“Terrific ending for ESMO24 day one, getting to connect, chat, hug, celebrate with some of the kindest and strongest voices in oncology— thank you OncoDaily for one more superb party.”
“Talk about a FUN group at ESMO24.”
“Always love seeing Dr. Julie Gralow, CMO of ASCO, and Dr. Lynn Schuchter, 2023-2024 ASCO President. Their passion for global health and art of cancer care.
Thank you Dr. Gevorg Tamamyan for inviting us to your ESMO24 reception.”
“From Phillipines to OncoDaily party! Fantastic network event ESMO24.”
“Thank you OncoDaily for such a great network beach party at ESMO24. Do not miss Dr. Booth from University of Oxford talking about climate change and Oncology.”
