Zacharoula Sidiropoulou, Senior Consultant Breast Surgical Oncologist at Hospital São Francisco Xavier, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Twenty months ago Vasco Fonseca, Natacha Paiva and I, we sent an email to our Hospital´s AC.
Today we received a Gold Badge.
Our Breast Unit, of ULS Lisboa Ocidental has been awarded the Gold Badge by the INTERACT EUROPE 100 programme, and before anything else, we want to say what this is really about: our patients.
Every person who walks through the doors of our Unit, comes with fears, hopes, and a life that extends far beyond their diagnosis. They deserve a team that speaks with one voice, surgeons, oncologists, nurses, all aligned around one single goal: them.
That is what INTERACT-EUROPE 100, led by the European Cancer Organisation and the European School of Oncology, is building across Europe. A shared language. A truly interdisciplinary approach. Care that puts the whole person first.
This badge belongs to the people who make that real, every single day:
- A. Rita Martins
- Filipa Bento
- Carla Cabral
- Diogo Cardoso
- JosePereira
- Francisca Ferraz de Liz
- Joana Pedro Marques
- Miguel Trigo Silvestre
- Vanessa Alves Duarte
… and to every colleague who shows up, not just for the medicine, but for the person behind the diagnosis.
To our patients: you are the reason we do this.
Thank you.”
