Proud to Share the Achievements of Our Latest UK Aid Match – World Child Cancer

World Child Cancer shared a post on LinkedIn:

World Child Cancer has always worked alongside healthcare professionals, hospitals, government partners and families to improve childhood cancer care, but today we are excited to celebrate some incredible impact our work has had over the past three years in Ghana.

We’re proud to share the achievements of our latest UK Aid Match-supported project and the progress made towards reducing preventable deaths from childhood cancer.

The project has:

  • Helped 1,609 children receive a confirmed cancer diagnosis
  • Supported 3,132 children to access cancer care and support services
  • Trained 411 healthcare workers to recognise the early warning signs of childhood cancer
  • Contributed to the development and validation of Ghana’s National Childhood Cancer Treatment Guidelines
  • Supported the creation of National Nutrition Guidelines for childhood cancer care

These achievements are about far more than numbers. They represent children accessing treatment sooner, families receiving support throughout their cancer journey and stronger systems being built to improve childhood cancer care for years to come.

Our thanks to the UK government through UK Aid Match, our partners across Ghana and the many World Child Cancer supporters who have helped make this progress possible.”
