World Child Cancer shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Hospital classrooms are doing far more than teaching lessons, they’re rebuilding childhoods.
At Queen Elizabeth Central Hospital in Malawi, Hospital School teacher Alinafe Kuntola sees every day how education becomes a lifeline for children undergoing cancer treatment.
Hospital-based education means children don’t miss out. They can take part in familiar routines, learn alongside peers, and maintain a sense of normality during long and difficult treatments.
This support goes beyond academics:
- It restores a sense of belonging
- It helps children socialise and build confidence
- It provides vital distraction from pain and homesickness
- It can support better treatment cooperation and outcomes
£200 could provide learning materials for a hospital school classroom in Malawi for one month.
Help children facing cancer stay connected to their education, and their future.
