“A child’s chance of surviving cancer should not be dictated by where they live, but unfortunately it is.
Like most six-year-olds, Chifuniro loved playing with his friends, but a diagnosis of Bukitt’s Lymphoma took him away from everything he knew.
After 4 visits to his local health facility with stomach pain and weight loss, Chifuniro was sent for tests at Queen Elizabeth Central Hospital in Malawi where he was diagnosed with cancer.
Life on the Paediatric Oncology ward was a world away from his local village full of friends. Luckily, World Child Cancer were able to help him and his family.
Your support helped provide a welcome pack, free medication, nutrition, play therapy and transportation so that he could attend his appointments.
£40 could fund a welcome pack consisting of toiletries and basic food supplies for a family in Malawi like Chifuniro’s.
“The welcome pack helped us to settle well in the ward as we had run out of resources, and it was difficult for us. “I am very thankful for all the support that I have received” – Chifuniro’s mum
