Helping Sujata’s Family Find Comfort and Stability 340 km from Home – World Child Cancer

World Child Cancer shared a post on LinkedIn:

“What does it mean for a family to travel more than 340 km just to reach treatment for their child?

For 16-year-old Sujata from Nepal, it meant leaving behind her school, her friends, and the life she knew.

With the help of a Family Support Officer, supported by World Child Cancer, Sujata’s family found comfort and stability during an incredibly difficult time.

They were offered accommodation close to the hospital, financial support for medicines, and free transport between the hospital and their new accommodation. The Family Support Officer also helped them navigate insurance and government health services and provided emotional counselling to help the whole family cope.

Today, Sujata’s family feels more supported and confident. The financial strain has eased, and Sujata can focus on her treatment knowing she’s not alone.

Read her story and see the impact of your support:”
