William Dale: Bringing Oncology Care to Patients Across Ethiopia at Black Lion Hospital

William Dale, Professor and Vice Chair for Academic Affairs  and Director, Center for Cancer and Aging at City of Hope, shared on LinkedIn:

”It was a privilege to visit one of the oldest and largest hospital campuses in Ethiopia, Black Lion. I gave a talk on Supportive care and Geriatric oncology to a room full of residents and attending doctors. They showed me the ways they are bringing oncology care to patients across the country.

The number of patients they see on a daily basis was inspiring. They asked great questions about how to bring Palliative Care, pain management, psycho-social expertise, nutrition support, and new care models to patients.

I love bringing my experiences from City of Hope and from Cancer and Aging Research Group (CARG) to others globally. Special thanks to American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) for connecting me with Michael Lemma to share our wisdom together.”
