World Child Cancer (WCC) shared a post on LinkedIn:
‘She is funny, and she makes me laugh.’
For 13-year-old Sanu, moments of play, music and laughter have become an important part of his cancer treatment journey.
Diagnosed with T-cell acute lymphoblastic leukaemia in Nepal, Sanu was initially very quiet and withdrawn during treatment. Over time, support from our Family Support Officer named Nirmala, Sanu gradually began to connect with others through games, activities, counselling, and emotional support.
‘It feels like you are family to us,’
Sanu’s father shared with Family Support Officer Nirmala.
Alongside medical care, Sanu and his family received practical support with accommodation, treatment-related costs and emotional wellbeing throughout treatment.
His story is a reminder that childhood cancer care is about far more than medicine alone.
