Walid Kamoun, Vice President, Global Head of R&D Oncology at Servier, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Weekend Glioma Science
Weekends are my dedicated time to read the latest publications in brain tumor research. One particularly thought‑provoking paper published in Nature Portfolio journal, Nature Medicine explores the role of microbial signals in primary and metastatic brain tumors.
Key insight from the abstract: the study shows that microbial components and immune microbial interactions are detectable within brain tumors and may shape the tumor microenvironment and disease biology, challenging the long‑held view of the brain as a strictly sterile compartment.
With the very high unmet medical need in brain tumors, innovative and cross‑disciplinary research like this is essential.
This is another paper highlighting the intriguing interactions between tumor cells and the microbial ecosystem within tumors.
At Servier, we remain strongly committed to developing transformative therapies for patients with brain tumors.
Many thanks to Golnaz Morad, Jennifer Wargo, and all co‑authors for this insightful work.”
