Honored to speak at the ASCO Community of Practice Health Policy Panel discussing policy issues that impact cancer care locally and globally.
My discussion focused on how policy can support locum physicians in addressing oncology workforce shortages while maintaining access to high-quality cancer care, particularly in rural and underserved communities.
Thank you to Dr. Jasmine Kamboj for the opportunity, vision, and leadership in building and growing this incredible community.
Grateful for the keynote from Dr. Ed Balaban, highlighting the importance of physician engagement in advocacy and policy.
Congratulations to ASHA Award recipients Dr. Herbert Long and Dr. Bishal Gyawali, and to Community of Practice leaders Dr. Noha Soror and Dr. Enes Erul for their outstanding contributions.
It was a privilege to learn alongside fellow panelists:
- Dr. Chadi Nabhan (AI)
- Dr. Eric Lander (Research)
- Dr. Joanna Sadurski (Health Literacy)
- Dr. Joshua Pritchett (Remote Patient Monitoring)
- Dr. Monica Malik (Global Oncology)
Thank you to our moderators, Dr. Ruiling Yuan and Dr. Wade Swenson, for leading a thoughtful discussion.
Congratulations as well on taking the baton of leadership from Dr. Jasmine Kamboj as the Community of Practice moves into its next chapter.
It was also wonderful connecting with Dr. Mabel Mardones and colleagues passionate about advancing cancer care through advocacy, innovation, and collaboration.
Policy is not something that happens to us – it is something we help shape.”
