“The Christie has been selected as one of the second wave of NHS providers to be assessed for Advanced Foundation Trust (AFT) status.
The AFT programme is a key part of the NHS’s ambition to modernise the foundation trust model and give high-performing organisations greater flexibility to make decisions that benefit patients and communities.
Over the coming months, we’ll be working closely with NHS England as part of the assessment process, showcasing how we’re delivering excellent care, driving improvement and making a positive impact across the communities we serve.
If successful, AFT status would provide greater flexibility in areas such as planning, oversight and investment, helping us direct more resources towards future developments and service improvements.
