Loay Kassem: SUPREMO Study Insights – PMRT After Mastectomy

Loay Kassem, Assistant Professor of clinical oncology at Kasr AlAiny School of Medicine, Cairo University, shared a post on LinkedIn:

“The SUPREMO study shows no benefit of adding post mastectomy radiotherapy in patients with N1 disease.
However, this was in patients who had axillary dissection (not the current standard of Sentinel LN).

To me, I would discuss de-escalation of radiotherapy with all patients over 50 years with N1 disease who had ALND.

I would still offer it to most patients with N1 disease who had SLN biopsy.

What would you do regarding PMRT for N1 disease??
Share your insights in the comments.”
