St. Baldrick’s Foundation shared on LinkedIn:
“In the face of unimaginable loss, Barb and Dennis chose to create something that gives back.
After their son, DJ, passed away in April 2019 at the age of 10 following a courageous battle with Ewing sarcoma, they founded DJ’s Snack Shack to honor his life and help other families facing childhood cancer.
The green and blue food trailer proudly displays photos of DJ alongside “#89 Forever”, his soccer jersey number. Every snack sold, tip received, and donation made helps support childhood cancer charities that are meaningful to his family.
So far this year, DJ’s Snack Shack has donated more than $1,500 to St. Baldrick’s to help fund lifesaving pediatric cancer research.
We’re deeply grateful to Barb, Dennis, and the entire DJ’s Snack Shack community for transforming remembrance into meaningful action. Their commitment is helping move us closer to a future where every child diagnosed with cancer has better treatment options and every family has more hope.”
