“I was a co-fellow with Maura at Johns Hopkins Hematology and Medical Oncology. Even back then her intellect was formidable. She was soft-spoken and kind. It was amazing to see her major contributions to oncology that started from her research as a fellow. She was taken too soon. Missing Maura and wishing David, their children and family comfort.

Maura Gillison’s research showed that HPV-related cancers are less deadly and require less aggressive treatment than those caused by tobacco or alcohol.”
