Sharon Pine, Professor and Hirsch Endowed Chair, Division of Medical Oncology at University of Colorado Anschutz, shared on LinkedIn:
“When Beppe Giaccone and I set out to pull together a collection on thoracic oncology for Frontiers-Oncology, we wanted to build something genuinely worth reading.
Now that our final editorial is in and the Research Topic is complete, I’m really proud of what came out of it. We ended up with 12 great papers covering everything from KRAS inhibition and liquid biopsies to surgical approaches and health disparities.
What stood out about this project was the level of care everyone put into it. Every single paper went through review with senior people in our field, and the quality of the discussions in peer review really showed in the final manuscripts. The collection also reflects the kind of collaborative, multidisciplinary work we aim to advance through the Thoracic Oncology Research Initiative (TORI) at the University of Colorado Anschutz Cancer Center.
Every paper is fully open access, free for anyone, anywhere, to read. Huge thanks to all the authors who contributed their work, and to everyone who took the time to review.
