Sarah Dubow: Bringing Visibility to the Often-Overlooked Phase of Breast Cancer Survivorship

Sarah Dubow, Senior Vice President at Inizio Evoke, shared an update from Genentech, on LinkedIn, adding:

“What happens when initial breast cancer treatment ends? While it may seem like chemo, surgery, or radiation are the ‘end’ of the cancer journey, for so many survivors it’s only the beginning of a much longer, lonelier phase of treatment to prevent recurrence that can last five years or more.

I am so proud to be a part of bringing this campaign to life that rallies together amazing advocacy organizations as well as brave survivors willing to share their stories to say the quiet part out loud and truly show what this next phase of treatment means for those just starting their journey.

Unbelievably honored to work with the incredible Inizio Evoke team who built this as a labor of love, grateful to the women who boldly chose to share their stories and forever appreciative to the advocacy organizations who joined us in the mission to raise the volume on this phase of treatment.

Because every woman’s experience is different. But NO woman should have to figure it out alone.”

Quoting Genentech:

“For many women with early breast cancer, completing surgery, chemotherapy or radiation is an important milestone, but it may not mark the end of treatment. The long-term treatment phase can last for years, even as information, guidance and support begin to taper off.

This Breast Cancer Awareness Month, we’re proud to launch About D@mn Time, an initiative created to bring greater visibility to this often-overlooked chapter of breast cancer survivorship and empower women to feel more informed and prepared for what comes next.

Together with Breastcancer.org, Young Survival Coalition (YSC), Latinas Contra Cancer (Original), and Touch, The Black Breast Cancer Alliance, we’re helping women access real-life stories, practical tools and resources that can support more meaningful conversations about long-term care.

Learn more.”
