Sandra Turner, Radiation Oncologist and Professor at the University of Sydney, shared World Radiotherapy Awareness Day’s post on LinkedIn, adding:
“What an ambitious initiative for World Radiotherapy Awareness Day 2026! Excited to see where this goes and to seeing more of Africa coming together for radiotherapy advocacy.
Ably inspired and coordinated by Ummi Umar Musa.”
Quoting World Radiotherapy Awareness Day:
“What happens when hundreds of people come together with a shared ambition to improve access to radiotherapy?
The Africa WRAD Dialogue 2026 brought together 335 people from 24 countries to explore how collaboration can help strengthen radiotherapy services across Africa.
From workforce and infrastructure to AI, investment and innovation, the discussion went beyond awareness; ending with a call to action and proposed targets for 2027.
From everyone at WRAD, a huge thank you to the organizers, speakers and contributors who gave their time, expertise and passion to make this important conversation possible.
