Robbe Saesen, Scientist at Sciensano, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“This is a slightly overdue post, but over the past two months, I had the pleasure of representing Sciensano at many interesting events.
In April, I travelled to Slovenia to present at the final event of the CCI4EU project, with the stunning lake Bled as my backdrop. Over the past two and a half years, I have worked on stakeholder engagement strategies for this project coordinated by Organisation of European Cancer Institutes (OECI), and it was great to showcase all of our results.
Later that month, I flew to the current hotspot for all things EU policy: Cyprus. There, I followed two-high level events in Nicosia and Limassol, on the future of the EU Cancer Plan and EU Cancer Mission, as well as on the EHDS. Moreover, I contributed to a workshop for WP5 of the eCAN Plus Joint Action. It was a great opportunity to reconnect with a lot of our Cypriot and Greek partners, including Efthyvoulos Kyriacou, Prof. Andreas Charalambous, Antonis Billis, Stergiani (Stella) Spyrou, Chistina Plomariti, Maria Krini, Anastasia Constantinidou, and many others.
Then, in May, I went to Lyon in France for the 60th anniversary event of the IARC – International Agency for Research on Cancer / World Health Organization. At this gathering of cancer experts from across the globe, I highlighted the eCAN Plus Joint Action through a poster presentation, and got the chance to see some of our collaborators who were also present, like Nuno Ribeiro and Delia Nicoară.
It was a privilege to be able to join these events. Looking forward to what the rest of 2026 will bring.”
