Rob Pieters, Chief Medical Officer at the Princess Maxima Center for Pediatric Oncology and Professor of Pediatric Oncology at the University of Utrecht in the Netherlands shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Today, the Prinses Máxima Centrum voor kinderoncologie hosted a delegation from Poland consisting of representatives of the ministry of health, university hospitals and society of survivors and parents. Poland, where approximately 1,250 children are diagnosed with cancer every year, is exploring the centralization of pediatric oncology care.
During today’s visit, we were able to share how centralizing pediatric cancer care and research in the Netherlands has helped us making great progress. It was humbling to experience how impressed our guests were seeing the facilities we can offer to the children we treat, and to their parents. We are looking forward to provide continuous support as these Polish institutions jointly make their next steps to cure more children with cancer, with optimal quality of life.”
