”Three outstanding Peter Mac clinician-researchers have been awarded 2026 Discovery Partner Fellowships, giving them dedicated time to advance research that could transform the future of cancer care.
Congratulations to Dr. Emma Boehm, Dr. James Buteau and Dr. Liz Connolly, whose projects will tackle some of the biggest challenges in cancer diagnosis and treatment.
- Dr. Emma Boehm will investigate new ways to diagnose neuroendocrine tumours earlier using advanced imaging, genomics and AI.
- Dr. James Buteau will expand the potential of theranostics beyond prostate cancer, developing new targeted treatments and AI-powered tools to improve cancer diagnosis.
- Dr. Liz Connolly will establish a collaborative sarcoma research program, using proteomics to better match patients with personalized therapies and drive future clinical trial.
Now in its tenth year, the Discovery Partner Fellowships are made possible through the generosity of supporters of the Peter MacCallum Cancer Foundation.
By providing protected research time for early and mid-career clinician-researchers, the program helps accelerate discoveries that have the potential to improve outcomes and quality of life for people affected by cancer.
Congratulations to Emma, James and Liz. We look forward to seeing the impact your research will have for patients, families and the future of cancer care.”
