” Breaking the Silence on Cancer Care in Sub-Saharan Africa
2 billion people experience financial hardship due to health expenses. Among them, 1.3 billion are pushed into poverty. But these aren’t just numbers. They are a student delaying or skipping care because it’s too expensive, a single mother falling into debt after a hospital visit, health workers watching patients suffer because treatment is unaffordable, or families forced to choose between paying for care and putting food on the table.
Along the Path towards 2030, Health Costs Hurt movement amplifies real stories behind the stats: 2 billion people face health-related poverty globally. We urge governments and NGOs to provide better screening, education, and UHC in remote areas, because no one should suffer in silence!”
