Partha Basu: New Publication on the Performance of Colposcopy to Triage HPV Positive Women

Partha Basu, Head of the Early Detection, Prevention and Infections Branch at International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC), shared a post on LinkedIn:

”Our new publication on the performance of colposcopy to triage HPV positive women.

The pooled sensitivity for CIN2+ and CIN3+ using colposcopy (low-grade colposcopic impression) were 84.4% (95% CI: 79.0%–88.6%) and 86.9% (95% CI: 81.7–90.8%), respectively.

The pooled specificity for < CIN2 was 64.3% (95% CI: 57.4%–70.7%). Will this set the benchmark for the AI tools being developed for triaging the HPV positive women, including the one by IARC – International Agency for Research on Cancer / World Health Organization? Thanks Marc Arbyn for taking the lead.”
