Michael McNeil, Director of St. Jude Global Palliative Care Program at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, shared a post by Ondrej Vlcek, Founder/CEO at AISLE on LinkedIn, adding:
“Special week last week in Prague representing our Global Palliative Care Program from St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital – ALSAC working with and learning from leading experts in Pediatric Palliative Care across the world on how to improve education and training for healthcare professionals in ensuring that every child, everywhere has access to high quality palliative care to reduce and alleviate suffering.
A huge thank you to the Nadace rodiny Vlčkových for hosting such a special event. I can’t wait for what is to come.”
Quoting Ondrej Vlcek‘s post:
“Besides cybersecurity and AISLE, my second passion is palliative care for children living with life-threatening or life-limiting diseases.
Last night was deeply meaningful for me. I had the privilege of kicking off the EPEC-Pediatrics Europe program in front of 70+ global leaders from the USA, Canada, the UK, France, Switzerland, Italy, and beyond. Standing in Prague and welcoming experts from Stanford University, Harvard University, UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospitals, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, and other remarkable institutions was both humbling and inspiring.
EPEC is a globally recognized gold standard in pediatric palliative care education. Through our Foundation, we are now officially bringing this program to Europe. But this is about much more than geography. It’s about making this knowledge accessible – by translating it into local languages and thoughtfully adapting it to the realities clinicians and other related professionals face every day.
We believe that real progress in this field only happens when we commit for the long term – investing in people, in education, and in the systems that support them.
Education is the foundation of lasting change. By supporting EPEC-Pediatrics Europe, our Foundation aims to empower practitioners across the continent with truly world-class training. When global expertise meets local practice, something powerful happens.
Huge thanks to everyone involved in making this happen!”
