“At ASCO. In our “molecularly” minded oncology world, it is good to provide evidence that food insecurity causes different molecular signatures and biology in metastatic breast cancer and is associated with worse survival outcomes. Black patients have the highest food insecurity and lack of access to food and have the worst outcomes. Social determinants of health affect biology. Health equity is life and death for people of African descent.”
