- Myth #1: Pregnancy and cancer treatment can’t happenat the same time.
REALITY:
Many cancer treatments can be safely considered during pregnancy with careful multidisciplinary planning.
- Myth #2: Every symptom is “just pregnancy”
REALITY:
Some cancer symptoms overlap with pregnancy symptoms, which can delay diagnosis.
- Myth #3: Pregnancy cannot continue after a cancer diagnosis
REALITY:
For many patients, pregnancy can continue while receiving carefully planned cancer treatment. Every case should be evaluated individually.
- Myth #4: Cancer during pregnancy is too rare to deserve more research
REALITY:
Although uncommon, cancer during pregnancy is becoming more frequent. The authors emphasize the urgent need for more inclusive research, international collaboration, and better clinical data to improve care for both mother and baby.”
