Monika Pansari, Lead Breast and GYN Oncosurgeon (Senior Surgical Oncologist) at Manipal Hospital, shared on LinkedIn:
“Is every breast lump cancer? No.
Finding a lump in your breast can be scary, but not every breast lump is cancerous. Cysts, fibroadenomas and hormonal changes can also cause lumps.
However, a new or unusual breast lump should not be ignored. A doctor may recommend a clinical examination, ultrasound, mammogram or biopsy depending on your age and the findings.
Don’t panic. Don’t ignore it. Get it checked.
Early evaluation can provide clarity and the right next step.”
