Mohamed Emam Sobeih, Head of Oncology Unit at Al-Mehwar Hospital, Co-Chair of Membership Working Group at European School of Oncology College, shared on LinkedIn:
“Six posters. Six questions. One mission: making cancer care smarter.
What if the most valuable contribution of real-world research is not simply answering clinical questions, but challenging the way we think about cancer care?
At ESMO Congress 2026 in Madrid, our research brings together six perspectives on this challenge:
- Mesothelioma: Exploring how treatment intensity, chemotherapy duration, tumour histology and real-world treatment patterns relate to patient outcomes in Egypt.
- Health economics: Examining the cost-effectiveness of a risk-guided approach to thromboprophylaxis in ambulatory thoracic malignancy patients.
- Artificial intelligence: Mapping the evolving landscape of generative AI in oncology across the Middle East and North Africa.
Behind every dataset is a patient. Behind every analysis is a clinical decision. And behind every research question is an opportunity to improve how we deliver cancer care.
These projects reflect our commitment to building evidence from our own clinical settings, asking questions that matter locally, and contributing insights to the wider international oncology community.
Research does not end with a poster. It begins with the next question.
Proud to see Egyptian oncology research represented at ESMO 2026.
My sincere thanks to all co-authors and collaborators for their valuable contributions, dedication, scientific discussions, and teamwork.”
