“ASCO election season is here, and our collective voice as an oncology community truly matters. If you haven’t already voted, please take a few minutes to review the candidates and cast your ballot through the ASCO election site. Voting closes on December 8th, so there is still time to make your voice heard.
I would also like to strongly encourage you to consider voting for Mina Sedrak, MD, MS, FASCO for the ASCO Nominating Committee. Mina is a dedicated ASCO member and an exceptional leader whose work consistently bridges science, clinical care, and policy to improve the lives of people with cancer.
As a breast medical oncologist at UCLA Health and Director of the Cancer and Aging Program, Mina’s research has reshaped how we understand cancer and aging, survivorship, and equity in clinical trials. His work has been especially transformative for older adults, who remain among the most underrepresented groups in cancer research and yet stand to benefit the most from more inclusive evidence-based care.
Mina is also a generous and inspiring mentor who invests deeply in the growth of trainees and early-career investigators. He fosters collaboration, builds community, and empowers the next generation of oncologists and researchers to lead with purpose, curiosity, and compassion.
Mina brings deep integrity, thoughtfulness, and a long-standing commitment to ASCO’s mission. He is exactly the kind of forward-looking, collaborative leader we need helping to shape the future of our society.
Please make sure you vote and please consider supporting Mina Sedrak for the ASCO Nominating Committee.”
