Michael McNeil, Director of St. Jude Global Palliative Care Program at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, shared on LinkedIn:
“Last year I made the ridiculous decision to run a full marathon as my very first race of any kind. It was one of the most difficult and challenging things i have ever done. So of course I have decided to run again!
This time I am making a much smarter decision though and will be running a half marathon.
With this training I will still be raising funds for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month and there is no better time to start…other than ridiculous Memphis heat! But it is worth it.
Did you know that almost 90% of all children with cancer live in low-and middle-income countries with the majority dying of their disease with serious health-related suffering? I am so grateful to be at an institution that is committed to improving outcomes for every child diagnosed with cancer and other catastrophic illnesses, everywhere.
