Michael McNeil, Director of St. Jude Global Palliative Care Program at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“It has been a whirlwind of a last week, including flying through a super typhoon, but I am beyond grateful for the International Children’s Palliative Care Network for an absolutely spectacular conference.
We had the chance to lead a pre-conference workshop with healthcare professionals throughout the Asia Pacific and then spend the next several days with over 400 participants from over 50 countries, including thought leaders, experts, and pioneers in the field of pediatric palliative care. The theme of the conference was Milestones and Horizons to commemorate ICPCN’s 20th anniversary.
There is so much to do, and this world needs caring and compassionate leadership now more than ever. I am so humbled by the example and leadership of Julia Downing and team, and I am confident that the next 20 years will be full of success and progress in ensuring every child, everywhere has access to compassionate care that improves quality of life while reducing and alleviating suffering. I cannot wait for what is to come.”
