“The annual congress of the International Society of Paediatric Oncology – SIOP was an overwhelming success. It was so great to see friends and colleagues from around the world share new discoveries and innovations in caring for children with cancer and their families.
It was a special experience to present on the power of compassionate care and learn from other incredible speakers, Ulku Miray Yildirim, Georgia Kokkinou, Roberto Campos Jeldres, and Rejin Kebudi.
One of the best parts of my job is the opportunity to learn from some incredible researchers who work with our team. It was so awesome to share the podium with Sarah Monesmith, MPH, who presented our work on reducing procedural pain globally, and Eddy Carolina Pedraza S., for sharing work on access to essential pain medicines globally.
Finally, I got the chance to engage with my mentors and colleagues who teach me every day, Julia Downing, Megan Doherty, Ximena Garcia-Quintero, and so many more!
Oh, and I got to sneak in a few runs preparing for the marathon!
