Marshall Fordyce։ FDA Approves a New Treatment Option for Kidney Disease

Marshall Fordyce, Founder and CEO at Vera Therapeutics, Inc., shared a post on LinkedIn:

“Today is one of the most meaningful days of my career.

As a practicing physician, I’ve had the privilege of caring for a wide range of patients, including those with kidney disease. I’ve seen the uncertainty they live with, the difficult conversations about declining kidney function, and the reality that too many eventually face dialysis or transplantation.

Behind every diagnosis is a person, a family, and a future they’re fighting to protect.

Today, that future looks different.

With today’s U.S. FDA accelerated approval, patients will soon have access to a new treatment option born from years of scientific innovation, unwavering commitment, and the dedication of an extraordinary team.

For me, this moment is bigger than a company milestone. It’s the moment when years of research become real for patients. When the work of scientists, clinicians, study participants, and advocates translates into something that could make a meaningful difference in people’s lives.

At Vera Therapeutics, Inc., we’ve always believed that patients deserve better. Today is a powerful reminder of what’s possible when that belief drives every decision.

My deepest gratitude goes to the patients who participated in our clinical trials and entrusted us with their care. This approval would not have been possible without their faith in us.

I’m equally grateful to our employees, investigators, investigators’ site teams, partners, and everyone who refused to lose sight of the people waiting on the other side of this work.

Today we celebrate, and we also remember why we started.

Because every breakthrough in medicine is ultimately about giving patients more time, more hope, and a better future.

It is an incredible privilege to be part of making that future possible.”
