“Cancer death rates have fallen for over 20 years straight, and progress in lung cancer is a large reason for that change – according to a recent report issued by the CDC, NCI, ACS, and NAACCR.
Lung cancer is still the leading cause of cancer death in the country. But we’ve been making steady improvements: fewer people have tobacco exposure, we have better screening options, and there are more treatment options available.
We know progress like this doesn’t happen from any one thing. It takes research funding, early detection technologies, policy improvements, patient advocacy and more – all working together to build momentum and lasting change.
