Lived Experience is expertise
1. About the Hub
The OncoDaily Lived Experience Advocacy Hub is a dedicated global space within the OncoDaily ecosystem designed for patient advocates and individuals with lived cancer experience. While OncoDaily already provides strong oncology news coverage, this Hub expands our focus to include the essential voices of survivors and advocates.
Our Mission: To support patient advocates in developing professional skills and connecting them directly with research, clinical entities, and industry partners to ensure all oncology research becomes truly patient-centred.
2. Our Objectives
- Building a Global Network: Establishing an initial network of patient advocates and organizations from every continent.
- Resource Centralization: Creating a dedicated space for opportunities and resources specifically relevant to the advocate community.
- Bridging the Gap: Serving as a connector between patients, researchers, healthcare professionals (HCPs), and the pharmaceutical industry.
- Advocacy Value: Sharing the tangible value of patient engagement across the entire oncology ecosystem.
3. Key Features and Content
- Patient Advocate Interviews “Experts by Experience” series: A regular video series featuring interviews with advocates and survivors sharing their unique journeys and expertise
- “Patients Ask Experts”: A platform where patients can submit anonymous questions to be answered by clinicians, researchers, or experienced advocates.
- Opportunities and Resources: Curated listings for conference scholarships, grants, fellowships, and open calls for patient advisory boards or research collaborations
- Health Literacy and Educational Resources: A dedicated space for explaining oncological treatments, terminology, and “complicated” study results using simple, clear words. This initiative aims to improve health literacy among survivors and advocates by empowering the community to participate more effectively in their own care and advocacy
- Original Perspectives: Articles on topics such as the meaning of cancer conferences for patients and why patient engagement matters from the project conception phase
4. Who Should Join?
- Patient Advocates and Survivors: Individuals looking to engage with the global oncology community and share their lived experiences
- Researchers and Clinicians: Professionals seeking meaningful patient involvement for their projects or clinical trials
