Laurel Coons, Bioinformatics Analyst at BioSkryb Genomics, shared on LinkedIn:

“A Different Way to Think About Cancer Immunotherapy

Instead of trying to make the immune system’s cancer-killing cells stronger, CRG-150 takes a different approach:

genetically reprogramming a patient’s own regulatory T cells, cells that tumors can use to help protect themselves from immune attack.

The preclinical results in mice have been striking, but this has not yet been tested in patients.

The first human trial is expected to begin later this year and will include:

  • Metastatic triple-negative breast cancer
  • Metastatic hormone receptor-positive/HER2-negative breast cancer
  • Metastatic prostate cancer
